NATURE CLASSES

Nature class sessions run for six weeks with one ninety minute class per week. Classes are for children ages 2 1/2 to 6 along with a parent, grandparent or special friend.

Each class consists of lots of child centered "mucking about" so wear boots or old shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Classes include a circle time with songs, music or movement, free-exploration time, a nature hike, a hands-on project and story. Developmentally appropriate art and literary activities are integrated into every class.

Examples of topics are trees, insects, birds, worms, gardening and recycling. Activities include making science kits, learning about science tools, creating and using science journals and nature painting. Sessions run from September to June incorporating seasonal changes.

Classes are $125 per session.
